Ross Farland's MKlll Zephyr 6
This is Ross’s most recent machine, a Mklll that use to belong to a good friend, Denis, that was at the time minus engine and box. It was at one time V8 powered, however, the firewall and trans tunnel had been rather horribly cut up with part of an old Dunlop tyre sign riveted in place over the hole! This was totally replaced in steel by Ross himself. Ross’s son is arranging for his work mates at the local panel beaters to do the bodywork as a perk job. New brakes, brake lines and a lot of wiring was redone. The suspension and steering were overhauled as well.
A straight 6 Mklll engine was returned to the engine bay. The engine was overbored and fitted with Chrysler Valiant pistons and a quarter race cam. A genuine Mklll overdrive gearbox was bolted on the back of the block. The car went straight through its Warrant of fitness so Ross is back in a Mklll again after 10 years.
