Panhard Bar Installation

By Karl Schluter -Low Zep

To locate the diff, preventing sideways movement.

This is a worthwhile modification if you are serious for all out handling and have already installed performance bushes etc.

The triangle frame is made up of 50mm box section welded to clamps that slip over both formed chassis rails. These are drilled and fitted with grade 8 bolts with nyloc nuts. The bar itself, I used 25mm round tubing with right hand and left hand threaded rod ends so to make the bar adjustable for length. (Once set, the length is made permanent with lock nuts on the rod ends). The rod end (near "B") is mounted inside the box section in double shear for strength.

Then weld a mount on the diffs other side spring pad. At rest, the bars total length should be adjusted at the rod ends and the distance from the ground to the bar ends should be equal at both A and B with the car level. I find this set up allows more room for a twin exhaust system etc.
